Prester Jon (Jonathan Levine) is a DC Comics superhero, and brother to Carrie Levine / Redwing. Created by Marv Wolfman and Tom Grummett, he first appeared in New Titans #79 (September 1991).
Fictional character biography
[edit]Prester Jon originates from an alternate timeline ruled by Lord Chaos. After Chaos tracks down and kills his parents, Jon and his sister Carrie join the Team Titans to oppose him, with the former becoming a disembodied consciousness after his body is destroyed. The Titans are tasked with killing Donna Troy 10 years in the past to stop her from giving birth to Chaos.
After the Titans find a way to prevent Chaos' birth without killing Troy, they reside at the latter's house while searching for a way to return to their time. During this time, the alien Technis builds an artificial replica of Jon's body for him to inhabit.
Jon is later erased from existence during the Zero Hour: Crisis in Time! event when the timeline collapses.
Powers and abilities
[edit]Jon Levine possesses the metahuman ability to interface with computers. After losing his physical body, he becomes a living computer who can possess other machines.
